GATE 2019
Shun Minowa
The orange-tinged interpretation of the Piacenza hills according to Shun Minowa.
Gate 2019, the first label/vintage produced by the young vigneron of the Rising Sun, is an orange wine obtained from the mix of Ortugo, Malvasia di Candia Aromatica and Marsanne lovingly left on ralax on the skins for five months in a cement tank and with a small amount which macerated in whole clusters for about ten days.
This super territorial blend, well known to enthusiasts of the genre, comes from grapes from an old vineyard of about forty years of age wisely brought back to splendor by Shun with results that can be immediately perceived in the glass from the first sip.
Gate is a powerful, direct wine that immediately makes you understand its great margin and aging potential; in the perfumes it releases notes of herbs and white flowers, while on the palate it's enhanced by the classic note of aroma of the Piacenza grapes in question, it has great sapidity, tannins still present and notes of white pulp fruit always mixed with herbs; the finish is long, warm, velvety but also with delicate balsamic notes. A must for fans of the genre!
New vintage available:
Gate 2020 - €33.90
