TENUTA MACCHIAROLA
Domenico Mangione's winemaking history is long and filled with so much experience and reflections that since 2007 have led him to lead his company in a direction never undertaken until then: organic approach among the vineyards, natural fertilizers, mechanical weeding, no chemical intervention , as well as in the cellar.
The vines cultivated are the historical ones of Puglia: Primitivo and Negroamaro among the reds, Verdeca and Fiano among the white grapes. The soil has a varied composition and is a mix of soils including the typical red earth of Manduria, but also alluvial compositions and sandy, clayey and calcareous layers. An estate with rich, lively and warm land which, in addition to the vines, hosts a large quantity of olive trees, fruit trees, wild herbs and arable land, strengthening the biodiversity and spontaneity of nature.
The Macchiarola wines and Domenico's idea immediately struck us, with that concept especially on the reds, of making the most of the characteristics of the territory but at the same time making it lighter to drink to make it fresher and more drinkable. Now all you have to do is drink them!
