Half a hectare immersed in the woods above Massa Marittima (Grosseto). This is the place where the small farm of Fabrizio Niccolaini, winemaker and creator of Massa Vecchia, is located.
Pinot Nero grown on calcareous soil with the aim of achieving maximum finesse and elegance. Maceration on the skins in limestone vats specially designed by the winemaker using the rocks of the soil where the vineyards are located and rest in sixty-liter glass demijohns.
The result is a balanced juice both in the aromas based on ripe red fruits, and on the palate, where it's fresh, with the right sensation of tannins, small red fruits, herbs, minerality and breadth. A Tuscan Pinot Nero that has that touch of lightness not common to many of its fellow countrymen. Few bottles produced and only when the vineyard allows it...!
