Domaine Matassa
Yet another surprise with Tom Lubbe who never ceases to amaze us with his splendid cuvées!
Mambo Sun is a grape mix composed of two thirds of Grenache Gris, Noir and Blanc and one third of Mourvedre, all vinified together with carbonic maceration for about one week. The grapes come from old vines between 50 and 90 years old and the juice is obviously positively affected by this, like almost all Matassa wines, acquiring a deep but well-balanced minerality and sapidity from the soil.
Both in the aromas and on the palate, notes of herbs, roots and ink predominate, with barely perceived tannin and a nice salinity. Light and complex, as is its long finish full of a thousand facets.
